Steam deck stuck on logo

So i know this has been brought up a million times. But i'm looking for more than just a fix, i'm also looking for any ideas as to what the problem was caused by so i can avoid it in the future.

So to start i'll explain the issue.My steam deck has been fine for weeks since i got it, but today when switching over from desktop mode to game mode, the deck just got stuck at the logo with no extra information regarding an update or anything. I waited a little bit and got impatient so i just held the power button a few seconds, but when pressing the button to turn it back on, the deck makes the power on chime, shows the logo, and does nothing. Right now i've had it sitting on the logo screen for a good 20 minutes now.

I'm waiting for the reimaging thing, but i'd really rather avoid that because my internet is trash and its going to take me like 6 hours to downlaod the file. Are there any other fixes?

So i'll explain what led to this now: Basically i was messing around on desktop mode, playing a game, and then closed the game, and hit "restart" in the options menu, rather than "return to game mode". Now, on top of that. prior to entering desktop mode, i was in the middle of applying an update to the deck, and then i switched over to desktop mode. Was that maybe the issue?
