Who says the post is pointless? Im genuinely curious to know what is the intended purpose of said award. So far Ive seen it being used solely with the intent to insult.

I mean, being unintentional funny is still funny.
I often give those awards to posts that are very dumb or outragous but made me laugh, so it fulfills its purpose i think.
I thought the post was funny so i awarded it. That the funny thing was the stupidity of the poster is more secondary in that case.

Haha, yes, and there are people like me who encourages by giving the award because I got nothing better to with my points.
