My family members look at games like a cartridge, or VHS tape, or book, or DVD.
They buy it once, and when they want to play it, they take it down off the shelf.
I managed to get my Aunt to buy Sims 4 for $4, but she had to scroll past several offers for EA ACCESS, which is the name of the EA subscription service.
At one point she was literally pointing a webcam at her screen to have me help her get around "ACCESS"
She didn't want a subscription, she wanted one game.
Does that clear it up?
It's not a value add for everyone.
Her last sims game being 2.
you want to buy? You click store.
And you buy a game.
I just checked, was prepared to get caught in a net. But wasnt.
What i do with the subscription? I wait for the game i want to play to be in there. Subscribe for 4. Play the game through, and got it for 4. Also i play other games aside.
I cancel the subscription after starting it.
No renewal.
You complain about a good offer that is a CHOICE. As if giving a choice that lets you play for cheap was bad.
If you want to play a game longer and its cheaper than the subscription, buy it.
He does it because he likes to do it.
I had enough trouble explaining what a games client IS to someone not inclined, the vagaries of license agreements were not exactly something my aunt was remotely interested in hearing about.
Once again, for those who find value in a games subscription, more power to them. That's not the usage case I was dealing with.
Hell, I'm not even saying it's a bad thing. Just not fun to explain.
Got them "all" cheaper or even free before.
I haven't seen it on sale since just before the price change earlier in the year, and i've been keeping an eye on it. i guess we will see what EA put forth on their discounts, again assuming ts3 hits a sale, also the extra 10% discount on a steam/ea subscription i'm not concerned with.
