What does "Big Picture" mode do?
When I click on a game it goes fullscreen anyway, I play on a 42" TV and the Steam browser app is fine. What is this mode built for? Can someone explain?

So you can connect to your TV and use your controller to navigate Steam from your couch.

Unless you use a wireless mouse/keyboard or you have your computer very close to you while hooked up to the tv, the normal mode is very inconvenient for playing in the living room. Big Picture allows for normal Steam functions to done with a controller, which is much easier in most scenarios.
That's it?

So you can navigate the menus with a controller?

Isn't that a bit pointless on a PC? Yeah I get you mayu want to relax on the couch or something but select your game using mouse and keyboard from the app browser and then connect a controller for the game.

Would you be just as happy with your TV as a TV, if it didn't come with a remote for changing the channel and volume, and the menus were written in such small text you had to walk over closer to read them?

Big Picture is a godsend for playing games in the living room.
