New PC, different accounts?

I’ve received a ban from a game that I can no longer play but the ban is not marked on my steam profile.

I’ve recently come into some cash and have since purchased a new PC. I have read subreddits and forums about the possibility of an HWID ban carrying over to the new PC by simply logging into my current Steam profile?

Is this the case? I can’t particularly see how this is possible. I understand if I use the same banned game account to play that I will be banned. But if I create a new steam profile, new game profile, would simply logging into the current profile to play my other games in the library cause my new PC to be flagged also.

it depends on the game, very few games do hwid bans, cods being one of them

You just simply never open the game using the banned account. Their anti-cheat won't update the new HWID from the banned account because you will be using a new account to open the game.

Well I was Perma banned on cod. I made a new account, new steam account. Played one match and instantly went into review. Rechecked a week later and the ban status was lifted. So what exactly does that mean?

I’ve used the same monitor, keyboard and mouse, and IP to play on my PS5 with no issues.

What type of ban did a receive from cod then if my main account is still permanently banned?

Thank you, this is exactly my understanding as well. I just wasn’t sure because the game still remains in my library, just unable to open and play it. But I’d still like to access all the other games I’ve boughten haha. So that’s good news
