Proton files being flagged as Viruses

It's mostly .NET framework related .exe files in the proton installation directory and in some games prefixes (winedevice.exe, net.exe, hh.exe and a whole bunch of csc.exe). I've run a couple of them (out of almost 70) on virustotal and got a score of 3/70, so I'm pretty sure it's false positives, but just wanted to ask if someone has the same problem.

Antivirus is McAfee btw

Its strange that some people using antivirus on Linux, the tech community does not recommend it. On the contrary, some of them told its even more dangerous, although i dont know why, but some dudes out there had more troube with antivirus than the rest of the users without it

I haven't specified it, but I am on a dual boot system with a shared steam library. The scan was done on Windows

Antivirus on Linux prevents the spread of malware onto other devices... Imagine if email servers did not scan for viruses...
Virus scanning is recommended for every device. Signature based as a minimum, so that well-known malware can be quarantined instead of being passed around.

i think virus scans are useless since i never got any alerts prior to my os being overwritten with some form of malware, it only matters if you intentionally want to install a virus that is to verify it is infected, as term "virus" itself often denotes unverified software as a means to perpertrate dissemenation of supossedly "original" software which itself can be a virus same as companies that sell certain products dont like when it is cloned and sold at a cheaper price, so in short virus term is a vague term that can be applied to anything, again just because it is not flagged as a virus doesnt mean its not still malware that is "verified" example most spyware modules in the os itself are never flagged as a virus even though they collect tons of user data without any proof that that data is used to "improve the os" ie its basically a virus and malware that collects user data without explicitly stating its real use or purpose.
