What automkd filters? Since when are there any automkd filters?
Zarineth Apr 12 @ 3:29am
There are no automatic forum bans though. Auto filter only hides slurs and suspicious links. It doesn't issue bans.

There is no automod, you got banned by a Valve mod because someone reported you and they found you in violation of Steam rules. You can appeal the ban with Steam Support or simply wait for your ban to expire

pretty sure they have machines to mod. if there's no automod that did that, i seriously question the human there, that failed to see the logic and intend of the post. xcuse me.

The logic is simple: you poured fuel into the fire. Don't get me wrong, I do believe you that you had noble intent. However, pouring fuel into the fire with noble intent is still pouring fuel into the fire.

Next time you see a forum fire, report & move on. Don't engage.

Yeah. Don't try to get in the middle of a fight on the forum.

You have a bunch of people being paid to deal with reports in bulk, more than often context isn't even considered.

And there are trolls who take advantage of this - they start fights to provoke other people, and then report those people when they respond in kind. OP might have run into that kind of thing.

There is an automated moderator; however, it can only report posts, not act on those reports.

A real human moderator is the only reason someone can receive a ban or warning or have their post forcibly deleted.

Users often have contrary opinions about moderation decisions. Many times they're more than a little biased and self-serving. If you disagree challenge the moderation from the notification message you got.

Maybe the lesson is that it's not your job to break up orher people's arguments on public forums?

I remember being banned for linking a KB article and had a global say WTF and removed it.

It all happened in less than 2 minutes, from report to ban to unban.

it was some offtopic ramble about something else but the thread subject. not really worth anything. anyway... ima take a break then. watching pointless arguments for sure is a waste of time. it pisses me off tho, to get thrown out of an active "convo". cause of a turd pressing buttons in another.

where would i appeal it? i wrote something under the notice. no response. and the support ui is not really that great. can't find anything in this steam machinery. w/e...

Not necessarily. Been there many times. You jump on the report list and the last report was from your last post you just made.
I never appealed anything. That was a great reason for proactive moderation. They were around to see and fix things even before I knew about it.
