Controller not working in games

I was playing last night with controller, but today after a steam update i can't use a controller in game. Steam does see it, pops up messages saying loaded config for games etc.

Rebooted pc etc, but still no joy.

if you have any ghost (faded icons) controllers in you USB device and printers folder delete them...

i have problems with to many usb devices connected as they seem
to not fully delete when i unplug them...

you can also do similar in device manager
goto veiw at the top and select show hidden...

then check for faded usb devices... they can be deleted...

Steam does see the controller. Big picture mode can be controlled by it. Even in game i can press the xbox button and it brings up the steam thing. Games just ignore that i have a controller!

did you check for ghosts controllers.... is steam picking up a real controller or ghost...

I think i've solved my problem. I unstalled Xone then reinstalled xow and alls working again.
