Such an obvious scam, just look at the grammatical errors in the fake Steam support message.
Imo, If you fall for that, you should not be on the internet for your own security.

oh yeah, it's a scam. I've gotten this exact script a dozen times. Just report them and block.

some reassurance:
- if somebody were to report you, the burden of proof would never be on your end. nothing would happen.

-steam support doesn't deal with offsite problems like that. and there's no way that 700$ would go missing through the marketplace

- steam staff doesn't use Discord or social media accounts to handle disputes. If there's ever an issue, they'll contact you through Steam. anywhere else would be unprofessional and a security risk

Unlink your Steam from Discord, report discord users to discord for scamming.

Valve employees do not use discord for communication, nor do they use steam chat for communication. They do not communicate to users, everything important comes as a notification in the Steam Client.

Protip: If Valve/Steam needs to get in touch with you, they don't need anyone to do it for them nor do they need to use another platform to do so. They will communicate to you through Steam's ticket system. Nothing else.

It would be great if everyone could grasp this simple concept.

The absurdity of the fake support reply
"reporting someone for theft AND it was even the wrong one" was a reason to delete BOTH accounts.......
it makes absolutely no sense.

It is entertaining to read scam texts and stories, but you should never react to them.

In future if a site asks you to log in via steam log into this address first:

Once logged in refresh the page that is asking you to login via steam using f5. If it is a legit page it will ask you to confirm by clicking a button..

If after you refresh the page still asks for your login details then it is not legit.
