Any Project Zero games, there's one onb Steam qctually, even though it's not the best one. Besides Amnesia, Soma, and Alien Isolation, most game listed in this thread are more creepy or gore than scary.

most of the time its not scary at all and its not really a horror game, just kinda has a dreadful atmosphere but certain parts are the scariest ive ever played
i dont want to recommend it as such, its one of those games that are not quite niche, but arent for everyone, you need to figure out yourself if its something you will enjoy. either you will play 2 hours and never touch it again, or youll sink hundreds of hours in and itll become one of your favourite games
you will need a bugfix mod too because it has a lot of issues, look up zrp (zone reclamation project), it has some non-vanilla "improvements" but it can all be turned off so you can use it just for the fixes like i do
