Recent times have shown otherwise. I haven't seen my games update this much before they added that new UI.
Again the UI doesnt magically 'make downloads happen' you only get downloads because because the back end sends them to you. You would have gotten the exact same thing regardless. If you dont want the shader cache for Vulkan/OpenGL disable them
Correlation is not causation
I have had only 3 updates since the new download U update was pushed, and I installed it. For 3 games that just announced new updates or patches.
That's 3 out of 1887 games I own.
Pretty much the same behavior I had before the new UI.
i just tested with my main account and alt account on 2 different pcs
started steam and i had hl opposing force in downloads on one pc
and hl1 on other pc
now heres the thing i have hl and opposing force installed on both pcs
why would 1 pc pick up an update for 1 game while the other gets update for different game but each pc doesnt get the update the other got?
dummy updates most likely or a bug indeed
EDIT:
Just enabled Shader Cache and these mini updates are related to it and has nothing to do with the new downloads ui.
