Do you guys think steam should add a free game every so often (like xbox/playstation) for members who have spent money?

Point being people there are plenty of options whether its humblebundle, to console to epic game store. no one is forcing you to choose whatever route to go. pick what fits best for you. there will always be people who like some services to those who hate it. so seriously who cares. i don't like epic so i won't go there. great for those who do. very simple concept. i don't always look for the free games either on steam. probably tons i've missed over the years.

Because people like OP don't want options. They want very specific tailored free stuff given to me based on "but *insert platform here did this* while completely ignoring all the things that are done on other platforms solely because they don't like whatever the free thing is.

well not just op but some of the answers as well have had some bias too. i admitted mine but doesn't remove it from being a source. heck some people prefer GOG over steam.
