Useless spellcheck in "comunity"
Dear forum,
anybody any idea how to disable the spellcheck in steam client in the "comunity"? Disabling in chat is not the right "solution".
it is 100% useless as it mark every word in red when i typing in english language. You can't configure it on rigth click, it is just a super frustrating anti-functionality as i hate it if every word is red marked.

? Community doesn't get an improper marking by spell check though.

You can add the "wrong" words to the dictionary. I've been doing it for a while now and it looks like I've managed to teach Steam English.

Sorry, this is not helping. All words are red.

That's why I said "I've been doing it for a while now" and not "I've changed it once".

I am just wondering- do you have your language preferences set to English, or to include English? Your profile says you are in Germany, and if your language preferences are set for German only, spellcheck may be correcting all words not spelled correctly in German. Most of your words are spelled correctly in English in your screenshot ("commnity" is incorrect- it should be "community"). But almost none of them are spelled correctly if the system is trying to read them in German.

I've configured the steam client to use english language. I don't like the translations. For any reason it tries german spelling/grammar because i can type german without everything gets red underlined.

I learned, that i have to try this workarround:

I will do this on the weekend.

Question, why valve is mothering users and make the spell check in the community mandatory? Spell check, the Guard, what come in the future? I will need so setup a webcam so valve will watch if i'm sittign correctly?
Simple right click, disable spell check, all good but no - the crap is just not disableable. They really smokign the bad stuff..
And sorry for the typos, still all words are red :)

Drop the conspiracy thinking, spell check comes with CEF by default, it may just as well be enabled by default.
Besides, some of us actually like having their spelling checked.

The workaround is working but still - i'm mothered. At least the words are't red anymore.
People can use if they want, i just don't want. Such forced functions just sucks. Sometimes, i just don't want and these companies need to accept, no means no.
But good, now at least i can type without a healthcare impact.

I have also just searched, much more people have issues with this anti-feature. Really simple thing - why there is no option to simply switch it off, who wants use it, can use it.
