Steam Cloud Sync Issues
Lately multiple games have had difficultly syncing with the Steam cloud. What is causing this? Is the Steam cloud disrupted, facing denial of service attacks, etc.?

My suspicion for it being server side is that local games which I have not played for months display the error message. Most affected games are Valve's core titles (i.e. Counter-Strike Global Offensive, Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead 2, etc.). Other games such as Black Mesa are impacted too. I'm not seeing it with other titles.

For your information; None of us have this issue. You can try uninstalling and then reinstalling those software titles maybe? Make sure you remove all files from the installation directories before reinstalling.

ignoring the obvious trolling as usual,
plenty of people have been having the issue lol
uninstalling and reinstalling will not help the cloud as that is a server-side steam issue.
this appears to be common with some of these older Valve titles.
recently I've witnessed discussion among other L4D2 players with the workshop.
it sounds like Steam and Valve have been moving on from the older titles.
we might just have to accept this if "support" is unable to help you.
maybe they can for sync issues, but probably not for the cloud.
interesting if it could be time related, I haven't played Left 4 Dead 2 for almost 2 years.
but i've been active with the authoring tools so it's still weird.

Ignore the trolling.
Plenty of people have this common issue.
They don't have to reply.

I've had an issue once this week a day after maintenance when connection to Steam servers dropped for a few minutes and that caused issues with cloud as well. But since then everything seems to be running well.

I have this problem with lost ark and quake champions but not with forza, no idea why it just started happening a couple of days ago

I had this problem too recently with some games refusing to cloud sync, I cleared the download cache and after that syncs appear to be working again (so far at least)

So maybe it is worth trying
"Settings > Downloads > Clear Download Cache"

(don't do it if you have ongoing downloads though, because they will be restarted)

Okay. I formatted the system and did a fresh install of Windows 11. Downloaded Steam and reinstalled the games. It still is happening. :28_eye::28_eye:

If you did all of that, then there is nothing more you can do. Or at least not that I can think of right now.

don't waste your time and resources.
it's a server side issue. how else would multiple titles be affected.
even if it was a Steam issue, it might be resolved in a later update as a user mentioned.
