Story focused games with sex in it such as The Witcher 3 will still show up as games like that aren't considered Adult only sexual content.
As for that game you listed, its not a sex focused game and thus the filter I mentioned wouldn't do much about it.
In that example there is a specific X mark saying: includes tags you filtered out "hentai", which means I expect not to see this type of garbage content in my queues. So why is steam not applying my filters?
It is literally impossible to find Adult Only Pornographic games if you disabled them from showing up in the MAIN option.
So, please explain how you disabled the option and are still finding them.
When it is literally not possible.
Does the game have the Adult Only Banner on it?
Because if not, you can't claim the game is pornographic at all.
OOF.
Also, that's not even how Disturbing content works.
You are aware, you have to have enabled Adult Only content for it to even show up, right?
Do you not know how the system on Steam works?
It doesn't recommend anything that is completely turned off by default.
It doesn't matter that you think an anime game is not allowed to be classed as the same as the Witcher 3.
Also, why even bring up the LGBTQ+ thing here?
That's not a good idea.
The game you listed is not pornographic, or it would have the Adult Only Tag on it.
So, please do not claim it is.
Is this game relevant to you?
Because you've played games tagged:
Singleplayer Hand-drawn
Includes tags you've filtered out
Hentai
As I said, it does not make sense to say ignore it (which I can do but anyway applies to a single title) where the entire goal of filtering out LGBTQ+, porn, soft-porn, anime, hentai tags is to avoid being presented with disturbing content in the first plane, like the mentioned title.
There needs to be a reliable way to make steam safer for people that just want to enjoy normal games.
No its not. The official tags for this game are "Comedy, Visual Novel, Dark Comedy, Casual".
These are the tags set by the game publisher.
ALL the other tags are "user tags" where users can tag games as they want and the most used get displayed. Those are not official and have no bearing on the filters because user tags are often incorrect or used to troll.
So this is neither a "hentai" game nor has it adult sexual content, its a comedy visual novel.
Also the user "hentai" tag is the last one in the list, meaning its maybe 2-3 people who tagged the game like that to troll.
So your entire premise is already faulty to begin with.
As far as I can see that's not actually a pornographic game.
I just want the possibility to filter all this porn/pseudo-porn content out of my store so that it is easier to discover and buy games I like. And at the moment it seems there is none. And this needs to be addressed by steam.
On another note: it would be nice to have also a tag to exclude titles with AI generated content, that may even be more effective than excluding hentai.
Please stop making up stuff about what is found on Steam.
You also can't claim LGBTQ+ stuff is distrubing.
NO ONE IS allowed to claim that.
Bigotry is not allowed.
Good grief.
You are using USER made tags as if they're the Word of God, when they're not.
Everyone loves to troll with user made tags.
Meaning they are useless.
And Filtering them will do nothing.
You clearly know nothing about how Steam and any game on it works.
You can't go and claim a game is pornographic just because you believe in nonsensical user tags.
OOF.
Also, it's nearly impossible to find a way to successfully determine how much of a game is using AI generated content.
games that evade the tagging / filter get removed from the store until they comply, you rarely even need to report them anymore, steam has its own QA team that goes through that stuff.
Yeah, he's talking about a random game that's been user tagged with Hentai, thinking that the user tags are ever valid. :P
He also thinks LGBTQ+ is somehow disturbing.
"Hentai" is not "Japanese pornography". In the realm of computer games that would be "eroge".
I try to filter out all tags that more often than not are associated with disturbing content/barely legal content (i.e. titles like this one that say all girls represented are 18+, which to me is pretty disturbing that there is a need to clarify that), clearly anime is not always associated with that (see dragonball) but I am forced to filter it out anyway (and this is another big problem that great titles disappear in this morphless mass of pseudo-pornographic games). Also stop claiming things I have not said to try to flame the discussion.
