Moderation without accountability (to prevent confusion)
My problem with these forums and moderation is that it cuts in favor of people who like the games vs people who are critical of the games.

This post is a perfect example. There is no reason to take down a timeless post within the same year timeframe.

There is no confusion on this either. When you go into a game forum and point out flaws about the game, there was fanboys waiting to jump on your post.

This is the culture due to developers making popularity more important than making a good product. It's obvious.

Now the last time I said this, was fine, but because this post not only cuts against kowtowing to developers and their games, it's also critical of this forum as a whole.

So if you disagree with this post, and the culture has changed, both on how games are defended and how mods react in favor of the developers and fanboys, please show me some evidence.

Thanks!

This is a one way conversation and not a true discussion at this point. If they want to have a game on steam and have their game rated and talked about, a genuine discourse is the only way to do that. If they don't want that, they can pay people to gush over their game to promote it. Steam is the public gamer, not an advertisement.
wonder how several devs pushed to have my reviews removed then... including the one who banned me without a reason. >.>

you don't see things that get removed, there's not some banner on there that says "we removed X reviews due to developer complaints".

the whole system is very much weighed in their favour because... shocker it's a business!!

so you should probably take negative reviews you can see more seriously.
This post is about Steam Forums posts not reviews.

I thought it was about "moderation without accountability"?

ya, it was obviously mod abuse and I nailed them on it after they tried to ban me for the same thing for the 3rd time after it had been repeatedly overturned by support.

top victim blaming.
Dev, devmods, steam mods and support can't all be wrong. Many of us know the history at play here. Self infliction is not victimization by others.
You're trolling right? Are you an angry mod coming here under an alt account to complain about my post? Not surprised. Sorry that people online aren't here to attempt to change behavior. Its your job, if you are a mod, to enforce rules without sacrificing genuine opinion discourse about these games. If your ego is such a problem that you take it personally when people say something negative about a game you love or you had a part in making, well either make a better game or get used to people not agreeing with you about what is or isn't good in games. You're here on this topic post for a reason. Was it to tell me about my childhood? Weird, I don't know you bro.

Let me guess, you're his friend, and another angry mod on an alt?

Nah he's just another one that has a revolving door relationship with moderation. This is just the norm until his next forced vacation.

I can understand the tactic on a game, but this is just a generic meta forums post. Weird...

Just like last time, noticing what happens and noticing patterns does not make someone "impersonating staff".
so you admit to having imperonated steam staff previously as well?

Though correct me if I'm wrong.

You literally quoted me talking to someone else in regard to teams holding users accountable, so that's not your post.

To clarify; they're not talking about me for this part. :VBCOOL:

I was more referring to the author of the post I quoted. Your post history and revolving door relationship with moderation is pretty clear at this point.

Noticing a pattern in behavior isn't impersonating a steam mod. Again, post history is public. If you don't like constantly being banned, maybe stop starting drama and twisting words like:

Replying to someone on the forums is not harassment. And if you've truly blocked someone, maybe it's best not to defeat the point of the feature by reading their replies and continuing to talk to them.
