Can i turn my PC into Steam Machine
My old Windows 10 PC is running very well. Unfortunately Microsoft will end support next year. Valve hasn’t released SteamOS 3.0 for PC yet but do you think i can install SteamOS unofficially?

Personally, I am going for Linux Mint, just because it works better as a daily driver. I already upgraded my Win 11 laptop to Linux Mint, and my Win 10 PC will be on Mint when support for 10 ends.

That said, if you want a Steam Deck like experience, try Bazzite:

I don’t want viruses
What would that have to do with anything? Your bad habits is what put you at risk of getting viruses. Not your OS.

? I love using Steam OS on my Deck.

Steam OS is just a slightly modified linux with the steam client open in Big picture mode.
No idea why people would want that if they can get the same with other distros.......

Because I play on a TV with a controller. SteamOS is so beautiful and easy to use. I actually prefer it over the Xbox and PlayStation console UI’s.

the OP wants steamOS, thats their choice.

as mentioned in my last comment, the OP can try "holo steamOS", or wait for valve to release the official version.

that said and I have used it, steamOS is a great option if they simply want a less demanding OS strictly for games, it also has its Linux desktop based on arch, though most will likely not bother with the desktop and simply just play their games.

key note, OP said "old PC, to install steamOS 3", so I assume they have a newer one for daily driving, meaning the old one has no use beyond games, though my assumption could be wrong.

Yes, my current PC is 2 years old. My original PC is now 11 years old. I only use the old one for watching downloaded movies/TV shows and playing games.

What bad habits? Viruses are everywhere. I don’t want to use the internet unprotected and I’ve heard horror stories from people using bloatware such as Norton.

I put Linux Mint on my laptop, and I use it as my daily driver. I can also play Armored Core 6, Resident Evil 4 remake, Miles Morales, and Tales of Arise on it without issue. It looks and feels a lot like Windows 7, while still be updated regularly.
