are wooting bans by game?
or is steam going to only ban people in games with pvp or only pvp? im a 64yo vet with many health problems. when i saw how the wooting kb works i ordered an 2he. i dont pvp at all, but i do play online games like The First Decendant and borderlands, and when they still existed mmos. the fact i can use it without needing to pound the keys has made a major improvement on how long i can play. just tell me now steam, so i can start looking for another platform if needed. almost 20 years of steam, hundreds of games, 10's of thousands of hours playing. wont be easy, but, if i have to...

No one here works for steam or valve.

It will vary on each game as they have the final say as steam itself will not do anything about the keyboards that are starting to add various types of macro's or auto strafing in them.
If you're asking if macros are bannable, depends on the game and how it's detected. Always best to check what each game considers bannable offences, Steam has nothing to do with it.
TF and CSgo i thought were valve, and hearing about bannings in those games are what got me worried. in each case it seems they dont warn or allow inquiries about why someone has been banned. but knowing about the strafe advantage, i can see why its a problem in PVP. but, if they arent saying anything, how do you know what games to avoid?

To be safe don't use such devices but most games will have their game rules posted somewhere and it falls on you to read them.

Usually any kind of device or software with the ability to do automation or it gives you a in-game advantage that goes beyond normal mouse and keyboard usage can pose a risk and it falls on you to know if it's safe to use.
Why do you think that using a keyboard with analog inputs would get you banned from a game when using a controller doesn't get you banned from a game?

Rather than relying solely on mechanical contacts, analog switches use infrared LEDs and advanced sensors to measure the intensity of light along the keypress, accurately determining just how far a key is being pressed. This allows the keyboard to mimic the smooth action of a controller’s joystick or trigger. For example, how a gentle press on a joystick might make a character walk while a heavy press makes them run. In driving games, holding down the “W” key could work like pressing the accelerator to the floor while easing it backs off the throttle around curves. This works in games because the keyboard sends these commands as if they’re actually controller inputs, while still allowing the rest of the keyboard to be used for chat and other commands, Literally, offering the best of both worlds.

Analog technology in keyboards isn’t exactly new, but the way it is being used today is. Japanese keyboard manufacturer Topre has used a version of analog sensing in its electrocapacitive keyboards for years, allowing users to set their own actuation point (how far the key needs to be pressed to trigger). The first company to apply this concept with optical switches for true analog control was Wooting with its Wooting One keyboard back in 2017.

You need to post on those forums and ask then. Steam doesn't respond here. On those specific forums game moderators might respond or other players can help you. The dev's who work on those games don't manage the general forums
