No business is going to keep a customer who commits fraud
https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/783F-5E0F-9834-22D2
What was transaction status for these coins?
https://help.steampowered.com/pl/wizard/HelpWithPurchase
I mean, they've made it so I can't give them money anymore so there is that.
How is taking my money back from people who haven't provided the service I paid for fraud? Why is it acceptable for the big company to commit theft, but it's not acceptable for me to protect myself?
My first thought was to contact them, but when I went through any pages to try and talk to them resulted in me reading the line:
"Refunds are not currently supported for in-game purchases in Apex Legends. Check with the game publisher directly to see if they can provide you with a refund"
The transaction status at the time was "Completed", it's currently "Charged back"
You call it theft as if someone is twirling his mustache as he laughs at you, when really it's probably just a technical issue.
True. But your problem wasn't with refund but with fact that bought coins never arrived to your account. That's why you should ask Support for help instead of doing refund.
If you want Paypal back as viable option you need to reverse your chargeback, after that you should send a ticket detailing your problem.
And I did try to work with Steam, but everything kept leading back to "Refunds are not currently supported for in-game purchases in Apex Legends. Check with the game publisher directly to see if they can provide you with a refund". They only opened communications with me when I took action via PayPal to tell me my account was restricted, and now I'm at the point where Steam Support are just closing any tickets I submit without saying anything even though I'm asking for help to get this resolved
I've done that now, though I'm not hopeful since Steam Support have been anything but helpful with this. I will just take my money back later if they continue to close my tickets without replying. Thank you for being more helpful than they have been
Note "I committed fraud and my victim was not helpful" is not the slam dunk you think it is
You didn't even go through Support at all, you just did the charge back and are now wondering "wait why are there consequences to my actions"
Contact Steam Support after you have done this.
Contact EA through whatever support mechanism they have.
PayPal does not reverse chargebacks.
The PayPal account is permanently banned from use on Steam and the account lock may only be a month.
