Peer 2 Peer Connections
What the heck happened with P2P connection? Ever since the last update, my brother and I can no longer connect P2P.. I see multiple threads on the same issue.. did Steam totally remove P2P? I've been playing certain P2P for years and now all of sudden, we cannot connect... WTF?

P2P is just that, peer to peer, its not handled by steam at all. If you are having a problem with p2p connections you need to investigate something that could be interfering with your connection outside of steam. Firewall, antivirus, ISP ect

Would you mind at least name a game and describe the error situation?

Sure.. Perfect Golf is the game my brother and I have been playing for years. Just out of the blue, we can no longer connect. I contacted my ISP and they confirmed that there is nothing stopping the P2P connection on their end. This just starting happening this past Monday for whatever reason. We literally have been playing this way for years and years, with no issues at all. Never had to open ports, firewall has always been on, I use MS standard antivirus software. Rebooted modem and router multiple times... still nothing.

I have the same issue as of this morning playing factorio. We have been playing every weekend and we can't connect now.

I just wanted to report back that I got this working again... Went into Steam>Settings>In Game>scrolled all the way to the bottom to Steam Networking and changed the Default to 'Friends Only'. Bam... able to connect P2P again with my brother and friends.

According to an anti-epic subreddit (the name of it is censored here), Epic Online Services as an installed service (not as part of the built in system in games) apparently disrupts SDR.

Uninstall EOS and you should be able to play most peer to peer titles again.

Never would have guessed this in a million years, me and my brother had this issue for a couple of days. Uninstalling EOS immediately fixed it. Thanks for the heads up, I cannot believe that, that actually seems malicious, EOS wasn't even running and I have EGS to not even start when my PC is turned on.
