Was it on a forum? You should know by now that forums aren't exactly the nicest places in the world.
Social media is one of the worst places in the world to be on and you need to have some really thick skin or be able to ignore them. Besides, are they insufferable and/or toxic because you don't agree with them? You might want to take a look in that mirror you are aiming at them.
Is it just two characters in a video game. It isn't world changing.
Nobody here is preventing you for enjoying whatever you want to enjoy. Go play your games instead of posting flemebait.
and not all of them are inSURable. Sure, e-gamers maybe, you know professionals on teams sponsored by like redbull an-and........i dunno................mountain dew(?) maybe but nobody's going to insure your girlfriend playing candy crush or my friend fat michael, who can't even change the dpi on his mouse...
Well. TECHNICALLY Max is bisexual and only Chloe is a lesbian. ( sorry, my inner "Life is Strange" fanboy came out
But yeah, especially nowadays you run into a lot of players who are deadly offended by any apparent LGBTQ+ or minority content in THEIR video games.
It has gotten pretty bad over the last few years.
Best is to just not interact with those people. If i see someone spouting stuff like that on a forum here on Steam i just block them instantly and never interact with them.
The worst thing you can do is directly answer anything they wrote, that is what they want so they can vomit more of their nonsense into text.
Are they? I would not consider people who tell me to kill myself over a video game opinion "friends" but your mileage my vary.
It reminds me of the old adage of 'no gaming is better than bad gaming'.
It's from pen and paper RPGs when there was always that one weird 'friend of a friend' in the group who was made everyone uncomfortable because they were a weird racist or sex pest or whatever, but whenever the discussion of throwing them out or leaving came up, the people complaining would start throwing out excuses like 'oh, without them we wouldn't have enough to play' or 'they're the only people I know who play that game'.
At some point you either have to go 'OK, this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and I quit' or reconcile with the fact that you don't actually have a problem with the behaviour, but you just don't want to admit that.
Lacking context. Depending on how the comment was made you may have been the one being toxic. Say, aren't those game characters? Doesn't that make you a gamer?
I don't see how not being able to have a discussion about sexuality effects your ability to enjoy playing the game. Unless you're saying that discussions about sexuality are the stuff you like.
Damn shout out to Fat Mikey, hope he's ok
And the way you write you look very toxic yourself.
Go play on social media - gamers have been fighting with each other forever - can't take it leave.
