I didn't mention metal black so, by the transitive property, you think it's actually a bad game.
Steam kinda sucks for old games.
You and many others seem to be under that mistaken impression. However, it's actually exactly like Steam.

In steam, if the website dies, we lose our games. (Yes, if gog died, we'd lose the source. BUT... You can still save a setup forever and ignore gog altogether. Not steam.) So saying that is is exactly the same is proven untrue. If I'm wrong, explain.
After all, it's nothing but the fragmented hallucinations Lara had while concussed underneath the collapsed pyramid before being rescued in the Amulet of Power (which is a free download, now, if anyone didn't know).
The first reboot series (Underworld, Anniversary and Darkness) had atrocious controls (though not quite as bad as the worthless "modern controls" they shoehorned into the 1-3 remasters), but otherwise was a decent reboot.
The second reboot series is Tomb Raider in name only. Nothing but a mishmash of Uncharted and Far Cry with a whimpering waif that's impossible to take seriously, even after the first game.
In the Atari 50 forums people want E.T. for the Atari 2600. The game dumped in a landfill.
The only game I know nobody wants is Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust.
If you read a sign that says "down is up" you don't go flying off into space I promise you.
The reality is that with GoG you can simply download any game you purchase, and have a copy of it without needing a client to run it. You can put it on a thumb drive, you can up it into cloud storage, you can do w/e you want with it. They can't make it stop working.
With steam you generally need to straight hack the game to get it to run without the steam client.
2. USING GOG SERVICES AND GOG CONTENT
2.1 We give you and other GOG users the personal right (known legally as a 'license') to use GOG services and to download, access and/or stream (depending on the content) and use GOG content. This license is for your personal use. We can stop or suspend this license in some situations, which are explained later on.
2.2 When you buy, access or install GOG games, you might have to agree to additional contract terms with the developer/publisher of the game (e.g. they might ask you to agree to a game specific End User License Agreement). If there is any inconsistency or dispute between those ‘EULAs’ and this Agreement, then this Agreement wins.
The license is for access to their online serves. You still "BUY" the games.
