Are mods from steam workshop safe?
I never used mods but I am thinking about playing some of them but I would like to ask if it is really safe? I mean I never download random things from internet so I am curious if mods on steam are random files that everyone can upload or it is somehow checked/scaned by Valve and I shouldn't be worried and I can use steam workshop without any risk?

Mods are usually safe. I've played Fallout 4 and Skyrim with a lot of mods and haven't had an issue. Those are from NexusMods, not Steam workshop though.
I also play American Truck Simulator which does use Steam workshop and have never had problems there either.

TLDR: Don't overthink it. Just download a ton of mods and have fun!

The Steam Workshop tends to be safe for using mods. That's not to say that someone can't sneak something past the safeguards once in a great while, as nothing is foolproof. I've never heard of someone having issues with mods from the workshop however (outside of normal compatibility issues when a game gets uodated).

Never heard of anyone having malicious issues with mods. Usually it's something technically like maybe conflicting with competitive servers (that might require certain or no mods) or mis-matched mods with other people playing the same game.

Usually when it's supported by Workshop it works pretty well though as it's properly integrated into the game as long as the developer keeps the mod updated.
