You have never truly owned a PC game in your life. No laws have changed this. All Valve was told to do was explain to customers that they are buying a license which they have been doing since the start.
The physical medium is not the thing worth $60 on a store shelf. Also game developers got way less money by selling retail than on Steam.

Which is honestly a noteworthy feat.
Your fellow consumers feel those prices are justified. The publishers aren't going to charge less out of the goodness of their hearts.
May I ask one question..... Why are you angry NOW over not owning your games. Why wasn't you angry last year or the year before, WHY NOW.... I can only guess living in blissful ignorance gave you the illusion of owning your library.
