Anti-hate speech laws vs the Flood of DEI Woke & SBI detected hate speech in every new games forum

Almost every new game is being spammed with flame bait troll threads with Woke DEI & SBI detected in the title. These threads always contain extreme sexism, racism, bigotry and hate speech. This gets reported but the sheer volume of it is hard to moderate.

I remember when the steam forums were about discussing the games and helping people with tech issues or the gameplay. Now most of new steam game forums are a flood of pure hatred and vitriol created by a brigade of zealots who seem to hate women & minorities.

Reporting it isn't enough. I have seen threads using the F word for LGBT people and calling Jewish people vermin as well as using racist stereotypes for minorities spammed across the forums and the users avoiding a ban. Seen users post the same vile bigotry multiply times and avoid a ban.

These posts often stay up a day or two before finally being removed or locked. Something more needs to be done to tackle this if the steam platform is to align with EU anti-hate speech laws.

The steam forums would be 100% better for EVERYONE be they women or minorities if any mention of DEI Woke or SBI resulted in the post being hidden or auto-moderated.

I feel like there is a simple solution to stop all of these topics, but none of us are bothering to find it. They are the reason trolling and hate speech increased dramatically.

You misunderstood. 'DEI' was always part of HR and has been for decades. Suddenly it got broken out as its own thing when it was 'invented' by academic HR types and now we are just returning to normal.

Of course 'DEI' (although not under that name) was always part of HR and what we're seeing now is the eternal corporate cycle of innovate by externalising something you did in-house, only to later re-absorb it again.

Give it enough time and some suit will come again with the great idea of externalising it.

Just wanted to focus on the point that companies stopping to hire DEI contractors doesn't mean they're stopping to follow DEI guidelines.

Yeah, I'll agree with that. Watching people react to Microsoft's decision like 'oh this means they're going to start making content exclusively for straight white men' is very funny though.

Except this line of thought is racist on its own. Why do we not just go back to "Making games for gamers"? No contractors trying to "burn the gaming industry down to the ground" and stuff like that... I'm not asking for much. Just good games to play...

I mean, are they? By "they", I mean developers in general. When it goes down to political wars on social networks with devs shifting the blame of their own failures on players who they've told "If you don't like it, don't buy it", I wouldn't call this very fun, tbh.

Granted, I do not find myself caring very much about those. I still have my backlog of games added to what good games are still around that I look forward to. Some studios really should change their tactic when it comes to "selling their game", though.

Because the anti-woke people don't want 'games for gamers', they want games that have no black, female or LGBT characters. Because by definition any black, female or LGBT characters they see are 'forced'.

I am one of these supposedly evil anti-woke people and according to you, I seem to hate characters such as Barret from FFVII, Samus Aran from Metroid and Steve Cortez from Mass Effect even though I enjoy seeing them on screen. Can you tell me how that is supposed to work or are you just here to generalize and demonize people with different beliefs in the same manner your "sworn enemies" do?

It doesn't matter. I agree with the bill that became law. In matter fact it took down Disney which was a strong supporter of woke.

What evidence needed? It's right in front of you. If you been on these forums for long time, you would pick up alot of things.
