This makes me think that if some company were to actually try and compete with Steam, they should name the platform something like "Diesel", to show improvement and advancement over "Steam".

But that will probably never happen, because nobody wants to put in the work, they just want to make the money.

There are such companies already.

They are not named "Diesel" though, they are Microsoft, Google (for Android games), Apple (for iPhone/iPad games), Activision Blizzard, Epic Games, GOG, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft and some smaller ones which are far from Steam's caliber.

No, we're honestly not sure what they were trying to say. Because 1) Steam isn't an "engine"; and 2) who ever said Steam wasn't safe to have on your PC? So the post made basically no sense.
