Even those above them in terms of age, that they follow on social media belong to the same brain rot generation(s). These range from minecraft players to whatever is the current fad.
You essentially have 3 soon to be 4 generations that will be known as the (modern) lost/forgotten generation(s) once it's all said and done.
While some parts of the world already experienced this to some degree, this however happens to be worldwide due to the internet/social media.
You might as well compare these to cannon fodder.
Narcissism has always been a thing since mankind's dawn. It's nothing to do with just later half Millennials or Gen Z. Gen Alpha on the other hand is a true Brainrot generation who are being unschooled by... my own generation... the Millennials. I know you can't see my facial expression as you read this, but I'm more or less groaning, rolling my eyes and looking disappointed that it's my generation that has created the problem that is Gen Alpha.
As for bandwagoning, people want to be part of groups as part of instinct. If they join these groups, they get a sense of belonging and can assume that they are cool too.
US effing suburbans got the first taste of it by growing up in a prison full of houses and nothing but houses. Add curated (commie) internet and having nowhere else place to go. Now add 40 years to that and you have the result. Boomers and Gen X and Young Y's still got to thrive but anyone else after that grew up in the digital era, and have since known nothing else but said era.
There's way more blatant bait threads than there ever were before. Every game forum regularly has someone make the exact same thread titled "is this game woke?" for example
