like I said this was going to happen... and this anti-consumer loophole would close around gabens bottemless snickers bag one day...

do you think it's true gaben has the power to make every game on steam DRM free though?

still, it's probably worth raising awareness of.

There's not nearly enough alcohol in my system for me to think this is worth "raising awareness of". And by not nearly enough, my blood is 100% blood instead of 98% alcohol.
I'm not sure you fully understand how that works....

I'm well aware I'd be long dead before that point.
Hello friends, because it won't let me buy some clothes for my heroes from the Steam store, I get: limited account and You must have made a valid purchase on Steam that is between 7 days and a year old

Well, then you need a valid purchase as your las tone is either older than a year or you get than 7 days.

Yes. You've always had a license to play the game, you never owned it.
yes I do... I own physical copies of some of my steam games.

those aren't "service licenses", they're retail products... omg lets not get into this again.

steam is older than this retail model... and I still remember when they stopped providing product keys along with game purchases... and knew it was for the worst.
The disc are retail products. The game on the disc is not.

There's nothing news worthy about something that has been a known fact for 54 odd years. Longer, if you also include books, music, and film.

THat youtube video needs to be taken down for spreading blatant false information.
The video literally makes Fox News look actually FAIR and Balanced. :P

Not even a joke.

THis is the most consumer friendly move Valve has made in a long long time.
It's allowing people to sue them now without flying all around the world so to speak, to go to Seatle.

You're talking about the wrong outrage. Although I can't blame you for mixing them up since they've happened so close to each other. I also don't blame you for not watching the video.

This is about a slight change in the Store(?) when making a purchase that reminds you that you are just purchasing a license to the game and that you do not actually own it. This one's actually even funnier than the ToS controversy because while the ToS actually changed, the license part has always been how purchasing a game works on Steam. It just wasn't spelled out directly for you.

How it notifies you is funny too.

It essentially just says "Read our EULA". Like you were forced to state you've read to finish any transaction.

Hasn't it always been like that when you make a purchase?

It's always forced you to say you've read the EULA. With the new law, it just says "This is a license, for more info, read the EULA." while still forcing you to say you read the EULA.

Thanks for clarifying. Sorry, that was probably clear the first time but my comprehension was a little poor.
