I asked if my character would get sexually harassed by other characters and got a permanent ban on the DA:V Steam forum.

???

I then got a 4 week ban from Steam on top which I appealed so am now unbanned.
It was an honest question, I do not like sexual politics in my games you see.
As a result of being banned, I will not purchase the game, and will advise other normal people of doing the same.

My question is, why are some devs/admins on Steam so malicious and why do they seem to hate honest discourse?

Why does asking if a character is gay, or has a chance of being hit on by a gay tend to trigger these people and have you banned?

Do they not want acceptance or similar?
The way I see, we are all human, but if you want to act like a supremacist, that's not on.
A gay supremacist, an anti-truth supremacist, whatever, it's all the same.

Why do some people feel that it is ok to wrongly censor and ban people with different opinions, or those that ask honest questions?

The first ban was for stating that, as a trans person, I was disappointed with the way representation was written in the game. The permaban was for agreeing with a comment that labels shouldn't be used as a qualification as a writer, but merits and past works should be what defines a writer. Which is an insane thing to ban someone for.

I had a quick look for the thread and your posts in the DAV forum, so can only assume they were deleted. Without context it's hard to know if what you said breached any rules, but if you made your points without the often seen toxicity around the subject, then seems clear it was an error in their judgement.

Anyway - good luck - I'm guessing things are going to get tougher now that hate is making a comeback. I'd say just be careful of not appearing to side with those that do hate! (Although will admit, I may have jumped to conclusions - as perhaps did the devs/mods)

If Dragon Age Vanguard winds up in a Humble Choice bundle like Saints Row did, I might buy the bundle and keep it like I did with Saints Row.I wanted Nioh 2.

My bad... I looked at your post history to try understand where you were coming from - and it went back only a few hours. Not sure why - perhaps because my connection has been a bit dodgy.

So I apologise - I thought you'd made this account just today, but can see it goes back few months at least now.

That aside - I've now seen a handful of your posts and completely disagree with many of them. But that's ok - we're on different sides of the divide but have no real beef with you. Just could not work out why you were posting with what I'd assumed was a new/fake account.
