Giving my name on the steam community market
So uh, I'm paranoid, so I'm gonna have to ask this.

1- can the surname area be just the first letter of your surname?

2- can it be the translated to the English version of your actual full name? Ex. Pferd translated to Bird as the surname, or does it have to be the untranslated one

3- even though I'm buying from my steam wallet, would I have to enter my own name or the name of the person that purchased it for me with their own card?

if you mean the billing address.. its just for legal reasons and you can write whatever bs you want, valve wont give a ♥♥♥♥.

I wrote random ♥♥♥♥ with my alts billing address.
Idk man I kinda heard that my steam account could be limited or whatever
Yeah I know, the question isn't necessarily about billing addresses in general, it's about the name cuz I'm kinda paranoid

(Previously:) If you're in the US where market place transactions can be taxed once a certain threshold is reached, you should probably give your legal name. If you're in another country where that tax doesn't apply, it won't matter.

Actually, the above is now outdated. Valve have determined they don't need to collect the information.

yes using your full legal name is required. it will never be given out by steam or valve. and if you ever need to give proof of identity to steam support, your legal id, must match what is in your account info. Steam support and yourself, will be the only ones to see that information.
