I'm shocked when there's no identity politics in AAA games now. I think this will be the new standard. Is this really what we want our games to be about moving forward? if you do it's fine but it's not for me. i'll just play Brotato or something.

Sadly so. Nobody remembers the good old games anymore. If I was offered to return to PS1 or PS2 times (Or hell, snes even.), I'd take that deal without questions...

Some games nowadays make me miss the old tales of Phantasia times. Wild Arms, Golden sun, chrono trigger, star ocean 2, Secret of Mana, Lunar and many more.

I mean, when 'identity politics' is just a euphemism for "had to see someone from a minority", can you really be surprised that you start to see it everywhere?

Why is seeing a black character, or a lesbisn character political and a white hetero male character, or a female character with big breasts is not political?

It's the same way how I don't want a bug riddled mess of a game with frame stutters all over the place in my games. I don't want political agendas in my games either. Period. Even if I agree with them. The game is the content that I'm paying for.

The issue is that SBI and co rely on intimidation to extort developers out of millions of coin to force their consultancy onto them. When developers refuse they are attacked by the journos much like how the same faces show up on here to attack the people who aren't supportive of it.
