i usually stay far away from those

i dont know how many people i reported but i only got one confirmed working report that steam told me about

as for me being punished, i only got a single warning for calling someone an idiot on a post talking about flat earthers

There was a post made showcasing full blown bigotry. Not thinly veiled, innuendo or euphemisms, "I hate ____." It was ONLY locked because it was allowed to stay up for hours and unsurprisingly devolved into a flame war.

I've gotten a few what I would consider ticky tack bans. If someone is being blatantly racist sexist, bigoted, etc and you call them a racist, sexist, or bigot, that shouldn't get you banned. MAYBE a warning but it's up to moderation to, you know, moderate that sort of thing in the first place.

Yes, these forums are rather bad. Sometimes it's entertaining to watch, even though most of drama is of quite poor quality.

"Years ago" forums were, in my opinion, more like looking for advice or somewhat meaningful talks.
