Should I use Steams built-in "Backup Game Files" for my Steam Library or is PkZip/WinRAR just as good or better?
I'm getting ready to back up a very large Steam game to BD-R and I wanna use WinRAR to compress it into a single file. I won't need to split the archive into pieces so that's irrelevant. What's the better program to use, Steam or a 3rd party compress/zip program?

Why backup to disc when there's disk rot to worry about?

7 zip should suffice.

Because they want to backup their games to discs.
