Harassed by a pro-woke? The mods wait until they can ban you too

Here's a direct link to my friend’s last response on the BG3 forums , which has been deleted several times without explanation from the BG3 mods.

Commenting here on his behalf as they also added a ‘community ban’, even though the only active ban is from the above.

‘Evil is as evil does’ - they are abusing their powers across the board here.

Note - no ban was delivered for the above, as it's obviously on-topic and isn't aimed at any one poster.

Another poster hopped in, however - clearly a pro-woke, judging by its history on the thread - and delivered a one-liner bait with a link to some medication and the little quip 'this should help you out'.

Sure, this guy got what was coming to him. But not until my pal had to make a counter-response - literally just 'that a link to your cope?'

1 week ban.

My point is, you report them and nothing happens because they're pro-woke and Steam support are pro-woke. So they do nothing, unless the other guy/gal makes a similar slip, or something they can frame as such.

There’s nothing in the ‘is that you’re cope’ remark which hasn't been used as a counter-response all over this platform.

Anyway, I'm not checking back in on this one - I know the script in advance. This is merely a note to let Steam know that their game is obvious. And that abusing your powers to add a ban for counter-sarcasm, and then adding a 'community lockdown' when no other bans are active, is a disgrace.

As for the 'regulars' who arrive in to pontificate about 'their house, their rules' - would you not save yourself the few minutes it takes to type it? Because it's neither read nor does it come off as particularly original at this point.

I'd strongly suggest copy and pasting it to a user who hasn't read it, because then you might invite some of the social interaction that you appear to be aiming for.

EDIT - Two further notes:

1. If my pal had of attacked the other guy (pro-woke) first, and the pro-woke retorted with 'is that your cope', my pal would've been banned and the pro-woke let off the hook

2. For those who think these complaints don't make a difference - unfortunately, they very much do. Steam even send mere 'support ticket' criticisms back for 'team discussion' (they state as much), so this works in the same way and is just more public

major issue across the forum is steams moderators afraid of getting caught, they are close to being exposed due to the gimmicks they keep pulling on customers, to attack them for no reason.

its sad but steam forums actually are hurt more by the improper moderation and the discontent with the platform these really bad moderators are causing.

most people just use steam forums to take a break between gaming, post a few thoughts, have a few laughs they don't want caught up in steams nonsense or policy's.

when steam starts to attack individuals for no reason other then a moderators whim it starts to create nonsense which turns into blowback against steam.

people don't blame the moderation they blame steam because steam should be responsible for its moderation. Even when the moderation is proven to be outta line and over reacting and bans are reversed it is still harmful to the customers who are punished for steam and for the moderation's error in judgement.

it would be much better if moderators with judgment errors where suspended from moderating and proof of such suspensions went out that showed moderator accounts banned as steam also tries to shame its customers in the same way.

it's sad to see how divisive and alienating society has become. the internet should have been a force for good, allowing for a rich tapestry of ideas and experiences, but to often it becomes a shrill, nauseating fist stomping out and hurting some of the most vulnerable, precious voices. it fills me with hope to see people like you supporting your friends through their most emotional, traumatic crises such as being temporarily banned for arguing about boring nonsense on the internet.

I don't feel or receive any special treatment from Steam moderators for my beliefs.

if I break the rules I get moderated, if i abide by the rules then im left alone.

Follow the rules as well as the spirit of the rules and generally try to be a nice person and you'll be just fine.

We need to come up with a surefire solution to ensure that modern society doesn't get away with letting people fall for those deadly traps again. Join forces and get rid of evil once and for all.

Anyway, I’ll tell you exactly the type of game Elon Musk will allow us to create. It’s a game I also predict will absolutely clean up, on the level of Wukong, because there has been nothing else but woke, derivative thrash for years.

It also looks better than BG3. It has a 100 times the enemy variety and creativity. I almost bought it just for that, to wash the candy-vibrant eyesore of Act 1 and Act 3 from my mind.

Really all the above tells you is that they know they've been caught out, and caught out articulately at that, and they hate it, but can't actually form any sensible counter-opinion or defence of Steam.
