game localization
I've noticed that more and more games don't have the Italian language in the subtitles, this trend is becoming uncomfortable, what's happening?

I understand that I am a minority, but this growing trend prevents me from playing many titles

Ask the developers, i mean not much that can be done if they don't see a profit in it. I mean what is wrong with the subtitles in English? You can clearly write in english.

It wouldn't surprise me that localisation for niche languages in gaming is something that gets cut when looking at ways to save money. It's not cheap and often enough it can be simply not worth it, commercially wise.

Unfortunately, I don't know English well enough to play narrative titles

my friend presses skip/esc so fast it wont matter what language he speaks.

The reason European languages aren't getting game translations as much is that most people in Europe can read and understand English, so the resources that would go to localizing games for those regions instead go to localizing games in regions where English is less common.

If translating a game to Italian adds a few dozen potential players and translating it to Mandarin adds a few million, there's a very clear business decision to be made.
