What was even the point of having the Autumn sale this late?
This sale ends on the 4th, the winter sale will start 12/19, whats the point of buying anything now when everything is just going to go back on sale in 15 days?

It always coincides with the shopping "holidays" of Black Friday and Cyber Monday which coincidentally came late this year due to how late November started.

Anything on sale now can't be on sale in under 30 days I believe.

No guarantee it will be the same games on sale.
You say that, but its practically the same games on sale for every season though. Its also the holiday season; if anything, more games will go up on sale.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

It is strange to have the "Autumn Sale" in the middle of Winter, but in the grand scheme of things Steam have a ton of other problems to fix first.

That is a relatively modern idea (which I obviously disagree with as it is needless). Traditionally the Winter Solstice is also known as Midwinter, much as the Summer Solstice is Midsummer (the same Midsummer referenced by Shakespeare). As such Winter starts around the beginning of November.

No one cares about your archaic methods of tracking seasons

Generate revenue and make a profit, the platform has no other purpose. The money doesn't care about the timing anyway. The only question is whether the - i'll call it advertising campaign - is used by consumers and how much comes out of it at the end.

The figures for total revenue (as well as those broken down) from such events would be interesting for all.

The weather here is autumn weather, so I don't see the issue.

Correction: You don't. Others do. And nobody but you cares what you do or don't care about.
You want to be wrong then that is your business, but if you want to go getting your wrong all over everyone else, it becomes everyone's business.
