Shop for stores. Even if the game is not here, it could still have a page. And it's reviews.
Unable to post review
Even if steam did pull it, I should still be able to review it, steam/valve. The review window is active but says it had a problem posting. I don't see why I can't have a visible opinion on it.

Domina
Great fun. Good concept, well implemented. Solid performance, a huge variety of combinations and possibilities make it replayable for a long time. It incorporates individual gladiatorial control and interactions with twitch chat. Quite intricate, and well thought out. A challenging game with advanced features to keep it meaningful. Just about all you can ask for in a low-cost game entry. And a unique genre.

Games removed from Steam by Valve cannot be reviewed. There also is no store page, so no reason for a review.

The issue with this mindset is that it allows games that are absolutely broken or where developers have acted inappropriately and been "removed" to erase all criticism and present a clean slate. A new product page is then simply created with a new or similar version of the related product, continuing the same behavior and that's it. No incriminating records, no problem :]

Additionally with such actions by Valve all information about developers, publishers, customer reviews and the product itself often disappears. Since many platforms automatically pull information via the API no one verifies the accuracy and it can seem as if a product never existed. With Valve's monopoly through Steam, what gets removed here essentially ceases to exist—or was never there to begin with.

The whole situation becomes even more confusing when developers and publishers change names as often as underwear. For consumers, the system is completely non-transparent and designed in a way that is unfriendly to consumers.

This process results for countless products disappearing quietly with customers not even being informed. And what about them? If someone still wants to write a review for such a product? Well, that's just bad luck.

Something really needs to change in this relation. Unfortunately, it's just as you said and it doesn't make things any easier.

Can you cite any example of that actually occuring? Games are not removed very often and very very very rarely do they ever come back once removed. So it sounds like your inventing a problem that doesn't exist.

If a developer acted inappropriately to the point there game was removed they are typically banned from releasing another game on steam so your scenario isn't even possible,

That logic has some merit AFAIK. It makes sense that someone could just come back as something else. None-the-less having reviews published on a page for a game that is no longer available isn't a conflict as I see it. And handing Steam/Valve the opportunity or idea to seize more power is not appealing either. As much as I hate having a third party between me and software that I legally purchased. I have no obligation to believe steam/valve will ever act in my best interests. And they already stipulate with terms, by minimizing users rights preemptively while maximizing their own. Which they are doing with this title, as well as other titles that may no longer be available.

Why are you specifically mentioning this game?

https://www.pcgamer.com/domina-has-been-delisted-from-steam-after-yet-another-transphobic-diatribe/

If a developer is banned from Steam for harassing people using their game's store page (over two years ago, at that), it doesn't really make sense to keep the store page up.
Samoth Nov 22, 2024 @ 4:57pm
The title has the least to do with it IMHO. The title could be X, it doesn't matter. I am specifically mentioning it because I own it, I paid for it. That's why. It is the only reason I need. Is there a specific reason I should be explaining it?

And?
What importance is it it when it's not a product for sale?

Posting a review for a removed product is as enlightening as posting a reply to a dead youtuber asking when their next video is coming out.

Then explain this.As the store page for it still loads.

The store link don't work no more but the store page still works from your library.

I see. That must be because you own it. I can't access this page.

Edit: nevermind. It's accessible through browser.

Some games it shows the store page then some games when you click store in library it just goes to the main store page. Like mortal kombat arcade collection if i click on store page in my library it just takes me to the main store page.

Weird it lets you through a browser but not the client.

OP talked about Domina, so was my post. There is no store page anymore for Domina.

Also, games removed by Valve also lose the store pag3e. Games delisted by the publisher keep their store pages, unless the publisher removes the store page.

Your Mortal Kombat example is one of the latter, Domina the former.

You didn't say that and so it seemed more like a general statement.
