Remote play authorization - WTH????
What in the seven hells is this? I now have to REMOTE PLAY only while being AT HOME, in order to enter a 4-digit code on my desktop, but can't play remotely on my laptop WHILE ON VACATION, 1,000 miles away???? Don't give me the "you should have remote access to your main PC so you can login to accept the 4-digit code.... I AM ON VACATION. I TOOK A LAPTOP. I AM NOT PLANNING ON RUNNING A DESKTOP EMULATOR WHILE ON VACATION.... but I would like to play Steam games I OWN remotely, as I have in the past? I don't travel weekly, it's been a few months since I last used the feature, but this change is RIDICULOUS.

Why not just download the game onto the laptop?
Then you dont need remote play at all.

Remote play when I've used it over the last few years, has always asked for a pin when pairing a new device.

But regardless, I'm curious why you didn't check remote play was working correctly BEFORE you flew a 1000 miles away from your main PC.

I found this thread because my remote play has been working on my laptop for ages, and suddenly decided I needed a pin to “re pair”
Get a tiny computer like a raspberry pi or something to take pictures of the screen every 15 or 30 second and then u can ssh into the pi and view the code jpg

time to pony up for a new laptop instead of a vacation

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
