Do you even know what a "level 0" account even is? I'm guessing you don't.
it was running worse in all games that I have tried through Bazzite. I don't care for what reasons a game will run or not run on Linux, it either runs or it doesn't, the reason doesn't matter to me.
I don't care if linux gaming is superior to windows gaming, I just want it to be an equal experience in every way. Its far from being a equal experience in every way, its a lessor experience. I have no reason to choose to have a lessor experience
That tells you a major problem with Linux gaming, that it's possible for someone to choose the "wrong" distro. I chose Bazzite due to articles being written about it saying its dedicated to gaming, these articles about Bazzite were the reason why I decided to give Linux a try again.
For as long as there is this mess of million different flavors of Linux it'll continue to hold linux down from ever reaching enough market share to matter. Even Linux fans cannot agree on what is best to use, so anyone doing research is still going to be left with confusion and uncertainty. It also doesn't help that the Linux community when giving help are not very good with new people with Linux, because how they explain things seems to be with the idea that the new user should already know a lot about linux.
Oh yeah, I forgot about this too, my wireless Xbox controller wouldn't work, I had to connect it by cable to get it to work. I can't have that given my use case.
you mean people should actually research it before using?
no kidding
once again
we made the choice in the 90's and windows won
anyone that wants to get away from it now will have to actually do a little work
people like you coming in and crying
"DOOM!!!!!"
need to chill
A majority of games dont have Linux Versions. Proton has issues and incompatibility with alot of games
Well, talking about my experience here :
I've always daily-drove Windows until around April of this year, but, getting frustrated by the different Windows controversial updates, I firstly made the switch to an Arch-based distro (EndeavourOS) and, in the end, just switched to Arch.
I do have a pretty sturdy but old Laptop (i5-8300H, GTX1050Ti, 16Go), and I basically gained performances.
Using Proton straight from Steam, it was around 10-15% in most games, and using ProtonGE more like 20%
Since Nvidia's *promised* to make installing their drivers easier during this year, I noticed that yes, it is definetly way better. Just install *nvidia* package and Boom ! You're in here.
I had no issues at all, but not everything's perfect : in some games, there was random issues. However, if you just check ProtonDB, you can see how well the games you play runs.
In conclusion, why not give it a try ?
Even using Ubuntu or a beginner-like distro, it will be a good experience.
ps Still I didn't go back to windows. I think it will stay that way.
Linux positive sides was it that's less storage space as a OS, uses lesser ram than windows less things in the background running like cortana..now it will be Recall. All apps I don't need are not installed on my pc. And I have choice do I want Gnome? Kde.. And a big plus for me, starting up
pc go allot faster because it doesn't do unnecessary stuff anymore. And love updating, no more i need to wait for i can use my pc. And my window 7 old pc still goes online. For micrososft windows 11 was no go for it too old!! no it still does it job with pop!os I dont need new hardware if the old one can do it too with different lighter os.
Good Luck with your Linux tryout journey..
I hope my english is not great, But I you get the message what i am trying too say.
