Insane Bioware censorship (they have completely lost their marbles)
I posted the below on the Veilguard forums, and literally one minute later received a permanent ban. It's Bioware's devs/mods, for sure - they have permanently banned all of Asmongold's reddit followers as well apparently, because they are literally insane - gaga mental.

Posting it here as you can clearly see no Steam rules whatsoever were broken.

I'm not surprised they have such thin skin, however - nor am I surprised they are so triggered by the mere mention of Trump. Steam needs to stop giving activists/crazies the reigns on moderating the forums. People this unhinged and maladjusted to society and humour should not be allowed to cyber-shoot paying customers on the platform.

I've heard the 'their house, their rules' shtick before btw, so spare me that one, yeah? Because 'my keyboard, my post'. You know what I mean?

Apparently Avowed will release in Feb, only a few months away. Calling it now that that'll be the next Failguard. I guarantee it. It has the same toony, plastic look, with purple everywhere the eye can see. Is it a contrivance of theirs, or is it just some psychological thing to which they gravitate, unknowingly?

IMO, Veilguard is on the way out anyway judging by the declining CP stats, but it's going be a slow, dull death. I'm more interested in the aftermath - what happens to Bioware after all of this? It'll probably take another month before the sorry ending plays out.

I'm delighted Trump won btw - if he's serious about overhauling DEI agendas, as has been stated elsewhere, there's a mild possibility he might also play a part in dismantling what has happened within the industry.

Sure, doesn't change that nobody is obliged to host "your post" or can't ban you for it, though.

Was there no disclaimer about one-liner contributions as well? Because they're not contributions, are they, they're just 'gotta say something quippy because I don't have a counterargument to the content'.

Sick of them as well, so you may consider that another part of my complaint about how discussions play out in the 'Steam Discussions' channel. Cheers.

Multi page threads with long posts will not change anything about the reality I posted, though.

It doesn't matter if you break the Steam rules or not, game devs run the game hubs in their own way and Valve is fine with that. And no, no amount of people posting their ban issues here will change that.

The truth is that people are free to run their property (Valve) and their assigned property (the game devs in their property) the way they want. You're not owed a space for your soap box and they don't have to provide it.

I see - you know this because obviously you're a Steam employee, and very high up at that, because otherwise you would have no authority whatsoever to make claims like this, and they've all the weight of salt.

You seem misinformed as to whether I care about any of that. What's the purpose of the lecture? Does it give you a sense of power that maybe doesn't exist in your non-Steam-exec day job?

I don't care if I'm never able to post again on the Veilguard channel with this a/c. Makes zero difference to anything in my life.

I'm posting this information, because I find it amusingly absurd - pathetic even, which it clearly is.

It completely negates the point of having any forum rules. Call an 'information piece', if you want a label. I'm sharing the information for others who may similarly upset one of the overly sensitive Bioware-mods.

'Here are their triggers: don't mention support of Trump, don't mention the nasty purple colour scheme they think is cool and don't mention that they're all about to lose their jobs'.

Aye, aye - I hope I clarified my stance re: all of that with the above.

Nah, this isn't high up the absurd chain. People have been banned from game hubs for far more insane things.

Doesn't change what I said, though. A discourse on it won't change things. Valve doesn't care much about the forums.

Are you suggesting what I wrote was 'insane'? I found it very reasonable tbh.

You're repeating yourself. Do you know what they say about doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result?

I made it clear I don't care about 'changing things' with my post. You seem really hung up on the notion that I do - let me say it again: I don't.

You said you're delighted Trump won. That is insane, yes. ;)

You should not make assumptions, though. I don't care if you do or don't want to change things. Posts made are not just for you, but for anyone visiting the thread.

Once I finish my sandwich, I'll click the forum away again. So no worries, love.

Yes bioware employees seem a bit unhinged, probably because they havent been able to make a good game in over a decade and see the EA reaper circling around them

Ask yourself that since making these threads never does any good or gotten a ban removed.

And I think anyone voting for people who'll obviously destroy America is insane ;) Glad Americans made the intelligent choice.

I'm straight and have a girlfriend, in case that wasn't obvious from my anti-Veilguard stance. In other words, don't go calling people 'my love' online - you never know who you might be talking to or how they might react.

Thanks for your contributions anyway - I'll click the block if there's any further discussion, so I'd invite you to find another thread. Cheers.

Haha - pretty much this. However, someone's got to call this out, because people who need psychological assistance with processing innocuous small talk will eventually implode IRL.

I mean, given that all the Bioware staff are about to be sacked and will have to find real work, I'd hate for them to not receive the help they need.

Read the post again buddy. Multiple times stated I could less how the ban is interpreted - I'm merely providing the associated information as 'public service', should others on the forum find themselves in Bioware-land and happen to suggest they support Trump, for example, and a Bioware employee has a meltdown as a result.

If you scroll down to the "Former" column, its a literal graveyard. I also noticed Bioware San Francisco has already been shuttered lol
