How do I disable Steam Game Recordings for all but a few games?
I don't need Steam to record every game in the background, I just want to record only some of them. The only way I've found is to enable background recording for all games and then disable background recording for 99%, but that's a crutch, not a solution.

Set it to Record Manually. Then use Ctrl+F11 to start/stop your clips.

it's currently broken it still records ♥♥♥♥ even on on manual

I chose to disable it cuz it will take up a lot of hard drive space pretty fast if you leave it running at all just turn it on when you want to use it and turn it off when you don't

Wrong.

Unless you set the recording time to something silly like 10080 minutes.

It's a loop recorder and won't use more space than what you set it to (globally and individual game settings).

You can set the hotkey in the settings. Steam > Settings > Game Recording.

Set it to manual and then scroll down to see the key combos. I believe it is STEAM+A.

I tested it with Balatro last night for a few minutes.

After reading the comments, it seems that it’s not possible. I hope they add this feature. Like the OP, I just want to select the game I want to record without forgetting to activate it via a shortcut.

Yes, I've noticed the same thing. It still records in the background even when you want it to record manually only. Super annoying.

This is annoying. I set it to not require stalker 2, but it still is.
