Filth on Steam your better than that Valve
So I was sitting next to my son, who is 10, while we was going through games looking for more to play against or with eachother. He has a steam account and so do I, I do not believe in using the family share if he plans on playing a game, we pay for it.
But to my supprise he clicks on the Shower with your dad simulator game, not a big deal, didnt look like it suggested anything inappropriate but just a simple match up game. He clicked on a game from there,
What's Under your blanket.
It did not ask to verify his age or anything. The point of the game? Masterbation. I get it, its not evil and it mostly comes down to people opinions or religous views. And dont get me wrong, I fully support the Steam Greenlight. I buy games that struggle through it alot to help support up and coming coders and small teams. But we are getting flooded by more and more of these simple games that should be on a free flash website and now we are slowly going down the ladder of pushing to see where the line is drawn for common decency.
I have been a fan of valve since I picked up that orange HalfLife box that opened up to show off an action packed alien disaster unfolding. I remember the buzz/hate/fear of talks and the idea of steam and requirement to have it to play games. Steam has filled out to be a great place for gamers, there is enough places to get your fill of smut on the internet, how about we keep it off here.

Thank you for your time,
Stephen

This game?

It's behind an age gate for me. But I don't know whether you'd already entered an age for a different product that store session so Steam didn't ask you, or whether the store gates things differently in different regions.

So you allow a 10 year old access to a platform that specifically says you need to be 13 and then complain that it has content that shouldnt be accessed by 10 year olds...

Its more amusing that the wholesale murder of people is totally fine but a pixel game that sort of vaguely talks about sexual acts is a crime against humanity.

Careful, somebody could go blind. Especially if they're in front of you.

What's strange is that even before I read the content of your post I was going to direct this example at the topic title.
School.
I remember schoolmates talking and joking about masturbation, in class, well before age ten.

When you see games like that just ignore them and move on, or have some reason prepared why their gameplay is stupid and he would never want to play them anyhow.

What kind of school was that?

It's fine if you're bursting just release what you've got.

You need to be 13 to use Steam. It's also down to you to moderate what your child sees. Valve has provided parental controls. It's down to you to use them.

Yes. By that age these crude things like the game that you mentioned should no longer be a "new" concept.

Your son is supposed to be thirteen in the first place to use Steam, argument invalid.
