Slow downloads all the sudden
Using starlink, did a speed test and getting 200+ mbs...

Tried both los angeles and phoenix steam servers... both like 85k/s download speed.

Tried clearing cache...

Nothing else on my end is affected, only steam.

Same, barely getting 200 KB at peak. I think its steam.

edit. I changed my download location from Detroit to New York and now it seems to be faster around 6MB, although still slower then my connection can handle

I've been having throttled DLs for about a month now - I didn't have any troubles before then.
I tried four different servers and there was no real difference.
I have fast DLs everywhere else.
I contacted support, who insisted it must be on my side. It's not.
It probably is on your end. I've been able to download large games in 30 minutes or less even though the projected download time is multiple hours

No. That is not at all what is happening nor would that cause a slowdown whatsoever. Steam moves terabytes of data like its nothing, you think a few KB/s would slow down the service? No.
New service and quoted speed potential does not guarantee speeds.

I have no issues downloading to HDDs and SSDs/NVMEs, so the issue is definitely not Steam sided. Your ISP however, may limit speeds to/from certain services.

Maybe your ISP is throttling traffic from Steam for some reason, maybe there's a dodgy server hop between you and the Steam server you're on. Try using a paid DNS service to see if it fixes it. Most of them offer a money back within x days so you can try it free.

Why bother posting if it was 10 minutes? And that doesn't rule out issues that have nothing to do with Steam.

Because I am just cool like that. Why bother posting about me posting after only 10 minutes?
