it's only steam that does it, no other websites?

so it logs me out every time i close the browser and i can't seem to figure out why.

i'm using chrome and it is ONLY steam that logs me out.

it's getting pretty annoying

Only some of us appear to be affected. There's already couple of threads on it but we're apparently in the minority. Ever since Tuesday, this ♥♥♥♥'s been happening to some of us.

Some can't remain logged into the website through their web browsers and some people are getting logged out of everything once they close the program. Including the client and phone.

I am only having issues with my web browsers so far. It's on Steam's end since people are complaining on Steam's sub-Reddit too.

Submit a ticket once you're logged in. I have yet to get a response but i am not expecting much to be honest.

Apparently this ♥♥♥♥ happened before a few years ago but i wasn't affected back then.

If it's in browser keeping you out
That's from the last "maintenance" from Tuesday where steam broke a lot of things, including cookies
A temporary solution until they resolve that Chrome Settings - > Startup -> Continue where you left off
On the Steam Client i didn't found a solution

hmm interesting.

I never used to have anb issue. it only started since i decided to give chrome a good clean out as it was kinda due for it lol.

that'll teach me not to clear my chrome data.

wouldn't that just put me on the steam web page where I would then, have to re-log into?
Would put it back, but you will not be required to log again, for some time, maybe a day, maybe a week

I had to download Cookie Editor for Firefox because the cookies for Steam are set to expire the moment you leave the site/close the browser for some reason. I had to manually set and extend the expiration date and disable "session only" cookies for each page on Steam.

Yep. It was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ headache.

I got this tip from another affected user on the sub-Reddit. Neither any of us have done any changes to our systems. You downloading Chrome is just a coincidence. I am on Firefox. All browsers are affected.

But some people can't even remain logged into the client or phone app. That ♥♥♥♥ is an even bigger issue.
For really each ducking page!?
So that's why editing my cookies was not working
Edge_Master Mar 11, 2021 @ 9:26pm
it's a bit silly they're able to do a stuff up on this scale.

I suppose I should be impressed by the stuff up, if anything else.

Well. So much for that cookie workaround. It just logged me out of Firefox again.

This ♥♥♥♥'s ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tiring and still no response from Steam support either. It's been a day since i submitted the ticket too. Pathetic.
Use the Startup settings, Continue Where you left of
It doesn't kill sesion cookies, at least om chrome
