I don’t understand how one can accidentally earn a badge for a game-achievements, yes, but not badges.
Yes, game badges and/or event badges. Achievements don't do squat.
You only get half the number of cards in the set as random drops, duplicates will happen.
The rest your trade for or purchase on the Market to get the full set.
Not only does it force some type of community engagement but it can lead to Valve getting extra pennies for Market transactions.
I get all that. I’ve sold a few cards, not purchased any, though. I guess I’m just confused about how someone can earn a game badge accidentally. Or is OP saying they crafted a badge, didn’t end up liking the look of it, and now want to be rid of it?
You don't get to preview the levels on the badges, another old suggestion people have been begging for and sometimes you just don't like the higher level badge art.
You can view them off-site but it can get a bit tedious for most.
