Steam linux - Not possible to install game on secondary drive
Hi, I've just install steam on ArchLinux and add secondary drive for games lib.

When I want install game on this library, steam say DISK WRITE ERROR.

I try to change right on folder, but same problem. At first, I put 700 for my user and user group.

drwxrwx--- 3 myuser mygroup 4096 12 august 19:28 /mnt/steamgames

But when error appeared, I try 777 but I get the same error during installation.

drwxrwxrwx 3 myuser mygroup 4096 12 august 20:17 /mnt/steamgames

Have you tried running steam as su to be sure that not some account Permissions are the cause?

And what you quoted is not an error message as far as i know (is a bit since i last used Linux)

Edit: the drive you want to install to is formated correctly i assume?

Is it a flatpack install of Steam? If so, did you use flatseal to give it permissions to the external drive?

Flatpacks are pretty locked down, by design. Basically sandboxed for security and compatibility. Flatpack Steam doesn't have access to different drives by default.

You can look up how to give it permission using command line, or you can install and use Flatseal instead. Flatseal is basically a GUI interface for managing Flatpack permissions.

Finaly, I've uninstall steam via flatpack and install via multilib. When I reinstall secondary disk, steam can install games.
Thank for help.
