Question to Mortal Kombat (9) Komplete Edition

Hi,

ich got mortal kombat Komplete edition, when I start the game, I have to do a tower with over 300 opponents- no chance to pick a character, play story etc- I MUST do this veeery long tower right after starting the game the first time.
Is that normal?

Would be grateful for answers/help. :)
