Steam Playtest DeadLock
Hi, wanted to ask something about steam playtests and I think this is the place to do so, today I received an invite to be a playtest of the game DeadLock by steam notifications, it's safe to accept that request or should I reject it?

I ask because I wonder what game it's DeadLock at all (don't know which game it's and never before received a notification like that), I found two games on the steam store with the same name but then when I search on google and enter the first link (a reddit one), it seems that people are talking about a completly diferent game, so I wonder what should I do or what game type it's...

The bigger issue I see, they are wasting money on something that won't be profitable.

I received a completely unsolicited playtest invite for "Deadlock". This is either a mistake or some novel scam. I'm not running this on my computer. Wtf is going on?

I'm assuming it's - Deadlock STATION DEMO. released 29 Jul 2024. From comments and graph, This looks more like a way to encourage gullible people into feeding 'positive' reviews.

I just got scammed ~$200USD from valve aka Vanguard. Topped up the wallet, receipt and all, didn't receive my payment and tech refuses to admit. My bank got drained.

This only serves to make me more sus of Steam, not privileged.

Your assumption is wrong because it is a totally different game from valve which has no page store AFAIK, and your top up wallet is most likely a problem on your end/bank. Why would valve/steam want your measly 200 USD and run away with it, knowing it could cause big issues down the road? I mean seriously, wtf... Put some thought into it.

I've had two situations with valve support and they went cool with both situations. Bought the same games two times by mistake, they refunded me the second purchase, this was ages ago, like 2013, way before they implemented the current system. It was my mistake and they still refunded me.

Second time, they locked my account and did not allow me to access the account, i got extremelly pissed at the support. This was like 2-3 years ago. Originally the account was from my older brother who was living elsewhere in another country, so his email was originally attached to the account for like a year or two, but then i took over and used the account he had, eventually changing all the information so it would be mine and he knew about this, since he had 2 accounts which he gave away to me and my other brother. Except steam decided to screw me over over a decade later, and the only way to unlock the account was showing the original cd key, which is something stupid AF to be requested in this time and age where most games are digital on pc. Luckily my brother came back home like 2 months before this and he brought back the CD's for both accounts, which i now have locked away in a safe. This is no joke as i have too much money invested into this account, and them locking it away just like that because they found out the original owner was in another country originally is just all kinds of messed up, and they knew i was the real owner because i keep buying games nonstop, and all receipts go for my email, which is attached to the account. If i had stolen anything, i would certainly not be using my own information on a stolen account, that's just being stupid. In the end they apologized for seriously bothering me and i told them to F off and never bother me again with this stupid BS, otherwise i would take this a step further as i am most certainly they can't be doing this out of nowhere. I even went a step further and called out the second account on my report (which my other brother uses just like me, except he was never locked).

So, i am fairly certain the issue is on your side. Tech support on steam seems to know when to do good by the customer, even when they screw up big time. The second interaction was seriously bad as i got my account locked for a day or two and i'm the type of person to chill on steam, play some games to vent off, them not allowing me to do so and presenting me with this random ass problem out of nowhere was just "not cool" at the time.

There is no where where you have to pay in this game... Your comment seems like a scam

Hi kind of has a point, the issue is straight up forward.
They just dont make money, like they used to.
Sure 2010 as it was a new thing, but by now there are too many.

Today all those free2play games, do get quite fast removed and delisted,
so you loose any money you put in and dont have the game in the end.

Thats why I do double check if I buy a game, that it works offline.
