How do i block Demos from appearing on "New & Trending"

Of the 10 items that appear in the New & Trending half of them are Demos. I don't want to be shown demos all the time, I want to see new fully released games. Most all of the demos aren't of games that are released yet or will release in months so why do they have to be put on the New and Trending page they should have a seperate tab.

I've just been looking for this as it seems to be an infestation at the moment. I'd guess it should be under Account > Store Preferences but there's no category for demos - hopefully they add one soon.

I've tried adding "demo" to my excluded tags in the same area, see how that pans out for now.

yeah I would go with this idea as well unless you want too see them elsewhere in which case I don't know man

EDIT : i just tried adding demo to my tags and demos still appearing on new and trending. i'll check back in tomorrow to see if it changes. Also for some reason i am unable to uncheck the email preference for notifications about new demos, seems like steam really wants people to play demos now for some reason >.<

i just found this thread because I am having the same issue. New release section filled with demos. Whos bright idea was this.

If I ignored a game, you would think the demo would get ignored too, but nope, it still shows up.

Hope that we get a chance to hide demos.

Has there been a change recently? Because I don't remember there being so many demos in the new release section in the past, but suddenly they're drowning out everything else.

on the client I no longer have a new & trending tab anymore cause I edited it out as the advertising got really out of hand, to remove the ong demo plague I just waste two or three minutes a day clinking on the search icon, check demo tab, put everything in ignore, done.

Valve decided to treat demos the same as F2P games.

Valve really needs to rethink their handling of demos. Previously it incentivized making a separate store entry so we ended up with Prologue everything 'games' but at least you could ignore those. Now you have demos heavily encouraged and tied to the game itself but improperly flagged so that they can't be ignored even when the game itself is ignored. The New and Trending section is entirely useless now that it is full of unignorable demos.

I can also confirm that ignoring demos unfortunately does not seem to remove them from the New & Trending tab.
