Why the same games always go on sale and some games never do?
I have over 50 games on my Wishlist and have noticed the same games always go on sale. After they go back to full price, another few weeks later they are back on sale at the same discounted price again. And yet there are some games that never go on sale, not even at the seasonal sale period. Does Steam dictate this or the game developers or publishers?

Game devs/pubs set the prices and discounts for their games on Steam. You would have to ask them why.

Thanks, helpful links there. I guess some game devs/pubs just never want to discount their games.
Some games are so successful they never really need to go on sale to get sales. Other publishers are so scummy, the reason they up the price of their game so high is to try to catch a few fishes dumb enough to buy it at twice the price and when they realise that it doesn't amount to much then they just put the game on sale on the normal price it should have been to begin with.

In other words... Business as usual. Just like those scummy stores you know to be on "liquidation sales" since 3 years ago.

Because the dev/pubs wish it so.
Greedy publishers. Well, in general, usually discounts are made on old games more often than on new and relevant ones
An amazing number of people actually refuse to buy sometime "unless it's on [discounted] sale" or so they say. The part that's truly amazing is how much they seem to enjoy letting the world know they're sticking to their guns about it on the free to use forums.

I consider them trolls.
Like Call of Duty still has the audacity to charge €60 without a discount. :orccaptain: Hardly anyone would pay that much for older games. Even at €20 with a 75% discount, it's still about profit.

Activision prices have been a meme since MW 2009.

They want you on their newest titles to sell their MTX.
